This is the Air Jordan XIII (13) "Playoff" OG which released back in 1997 featuring the black leather color way with true red and white accents. Known to many as the "Black Cats" because of Tinker Hatfield drawing inspiration from the Black Panthers found in the wild. Many don't know that "Black Cat" was Jordan's nickname on the court because of his swift agility and speed. The inspiration is clear from the sole, which resembles the pads on a panther's paws that give them the ability to scale tall trees. Another panther-like feature is the pitted upper resembling the whiskers on the cat's cheeks. Lastly, the shoe features a hologram on each ankle that resembles the eyes of a panther in the darkness. During the 1998 NBA Playoffs Michael Jordan wore these "Playoff 13s" and averaged 32.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.5 assists with 81% from the free throw line. They went 15-6 during the playoffs which was enough to win the 1998 NBA Championship.
